Tommy Canary - Chef

Tommy is not just a chef, although he has prepared meals for George Steinbrenner when he worked in the Yankee Club at Yankee Stadium. Tommy is a fantastic teacher and is passionate about the world of theatre. His reason for going to New York City was to learn the craft of acting. In his thirty-year plus career as a professional actor, he has also worn many hats in the Arts. While honing his acting craft, other opportunities were presented to him whom he took advantage of. Among those opportunities were becoming a Director and Co-Founder of The Flophouse Theatre Company in NYC which specialized in presenting One Act plays and Showcases. He also directed the New York premier of “The Cure” by Irene Marianker. Other theatre events in New York included running sound at the famous La Mamma Theatre, House Manager at the Sullivan Street Playhouse, and Stage Manager for several Off Broadway productions. A move to Orlando, Florida formed the platform to produce and direct shows at the International Fringe Festival. He also directed "Wedding Bells" a sitcom pilot for KVG Studios. At the same time, he was acting in stage, film, television, and commercials. A few of his credits you might recognize are “Matlock,” “From the Earth to the Moon,” and “ER.” As a writer, he won an award for “The Camp Blue Story” for St. Vincent’s Hospital. His other love is teaching and coaching actors. As founder of Actors Outlet, he offers classes for film, TV and commercials as well as private coaching. He also works closely with the Alabama School of Fine Arts, inspiring young people to reach for the stars and hold on to their dreams, one performance at a time.
